Rating scale offers to evaluate an employee in a manner that is structured and standardized. This enables to measure an employee's level of proficiency in a particular skill area or goals assessment. During assessment, It enables all employees to be subjected to the same rating criteria with similar responses. It is also very easy to use and understand it. It provides a definition of a competency and helps to differentiate performance across a range from "needs improvement" to "exceeds expectations" or any other arrangement which helps the appraiser to easily characterize the level of performance demonstrated by an employee.
Human Resource (HR) Administrator can add or modify rating scales from Home screen GoTo -> Tenant Administration
Click on Manage Grade Scales on the Tenant Administration page, It takes you to the following page;
You can either add a new grade scale or edit an existing grade scale.
If you want to add a new grade scale then fill in the columns provided at the top of your screen, following are the different fields available;
- Grade Scale Name: Here you can give a name for the new grade scale.
- Type: Set the type of the grade scale, whether it is fixed or floating.
- Then you will get the option to set the grade scale as default attribute grade, set as default or OI/II Grade scale.
- Number of Divisions: Here you can set the number of divisions that you need for the rating scale. You can give any values between Two to Five (2 to 5
- Click on to discard the changes.
- Click on after completing all details. The screen will change to the following way.
Here you can provide
Text Value, Indicates the levels levels of performance demonstrated (score). e.x. meets expectations, exceeds expectations etc.,
Numerical Value with respect to the level of performance demonstrated. e.x. 4 - meets expectations, 5 - Exceeds expectations
Rating Guidelines refers to the definition of the competency demonstrated. You can also provide a color code for each value/score.
Click onbutton to add new rating scale, the new rating scale will be added.
PS: Rating scales should be created before creating feedback forms.
It is even possible to edit an existing rating scale after the initial setting by clicking on Edit icon. It takes you to the following window;
After making the necessary changes click on button.
Note: Synergita supports to division the rating scale (differentiate competency level) from 2 point to 10 point.
