This article explains whether users who log in via Single Sign-On (SSO) can reset their passwords in Synergita and how password management works for SSO-enabled accounts.

Understanding Password Management for SSO Users

When SSO is enabled, Synergita does not store or control user passwords. All authentication and password policies are managed by the organization’s Identity Provider (IdP).

Because of this, password reset functions in Synergita (e.g., Forgot Password) are not applicable to SSO-enabled users.

Can SSO Users Reset Their Password in Synergita? No. SSO users cannot reset or change their passwords directly within Synergita.

If an SSO user needs to reset their password, they must use the organization’s identity provider or IT process such as the organization's Internal IT helpdesk team.

Once the password is updated at the IdP level, users can log in to Synergita using SSO with the new credentials.

Key Notes

  • The Forgot Password and Reset Password options in Synergita apply only to non-SSO users.

  • All password-related issues for SSO users must be handled by the organization’s IT/SSO administrator.

  • Synergita will automatically authenticate users using the updated credentials during their next SSO login.
