In Synergita OKR, tracking progress across the organization is made easy with the use of leading, on-track, and lagging indicators. These indicators provide valuable insights into the status of objectives and help in effective goal management.

The image below shows the lagging and the leading indicators.

Leading Indicator:

  • A leading indicator signifies that the achievement percentage of the objective is greater than the target meant to be achieved.
  • For example, if the set objective is to bring in $10,000 within 10 days, and the individual/team achieves more than the expected target, the objective is considered leading.
  • Leading indicators indicate that progress is exceeding the anticipated rate, which is a positive sign of moving in the right direction towards achieving the overall objective.

Lagging Indicator:

  • Ø A lagging indicator indicates that the achievement percentage of the objective is lesser than the target to be achieved.
  • Ø For example, if the set objective is to bring in $10,000 within 10 days, and the individual/team achieves less than the expected target, the objective is considered lagging.
  • Ø Lagging indicators help identify areas where progress is not meeting expectations, enabling the organization to take corrective measures and make necessary improvements.

On-Track Indicator:

  • Ø An on-track indicator indicates that the achievement percentage of the objective is equal to the target to be achieved.
  • Ø For example, if the set objective is to bring in $10,000 within 10 days, and the individual/team achieves the expected target, the objective is considered on-track.
  • Ø On-track indicators signify that progress is aligned with the set target, showing that efforts are on course to achieve the desired results.

Importance of Indicators:

  • Ø Leading indicators give early insights that the organization and its employees are making significant progress and heading in the right direction towards accomplishing the overall objective.
  • Ø Lagging indicators are crucial in identifying areas where progress is falling short of expectations, prompting the organization to take corrective actions and improve performance.
  • Ø On-track indicators reassure that the efforts are in line with the target, and the objective is progressing as planned.

Using these indicators, Synergita OKR provides a comprehensive view of the progress made, allowing organizations to make data-driven decisions, take corrective actions, and align efforts to achieve successful outcomes.
