Transparency is a key feature in any OKR. It increases productivity and creates a sense of togetherness that everybody is working towards a common objective. OKR visibility across the organization is very important to keep the employees, teams, and organization on the same page. Synergita OKR provides the flexibility to set it right as per the organization's needs The article explains in detail about setting up the visibility and the functionality of this feature.
The visibility function is available on the Company Objectives creation page and Team Objectives creation page. The screenshot below shows the Visibility field seen on the Objective creation page of the company and Team.
There are two options in the Visibility Drop- down menu.
- Public
- Confidential
Public Objective: Clicking on the Public will allow the entire organization to view the created Objective. OKRs are made public for the teams as well as the individuals to work/contribute to the progress of the Company Objective.
For Example:
The company objective is to achieve 1 million revenue, the OKR is made visible to the entire organization. The transparency motivates the other departments and drives them towards achieving the same.
Confidential Objective: Clicking on the Confidential option will make the created Objective visible only to the individuals who have the privilege to view these objectives. There will be some objectives created which will be transparent to those who are given access by the HR/ Admin. Objectives that are having sensitive information or legal information are chosen to be kept confidential. On the OKR configuration page, the admin can choose the users who will be given the privilege to view the confidential objectives.
The Steps to do the same are listed below:
Step 1: Click on the configuration icon in the Navigation menu.
Step 2: Clicking on that will list out the sub menus. Click >OKR Configuration.
Step 3: You will land on the OKR Configuration page. Go to the field- View access for Confidential objectives.
Step 4: Type the name of the employee in the search field.
Step 5: Click on the Save button for the chosen employee to have access to view the confidential objectives.
For Example:
The company's objective is to reduce the cost of new hires. The visibility of this objective will be private. This objective is not required to be public across the organization, keeping it confidential will drive only the respective department to work towards the objective and will not create unnecessary tension in the organization.
Note: There is no visibility field on the Individual Objective Creation page. By default, the Individual objectives are visible to everyone across the organization. The person who has the privilege to view the objective is the individual who has created the objective and the Reporting Manager will be given access to view the same.
